Job summary

VOALA is seeking a Monitor I - HSH to help provide security for program premises and ensure the safety of clients, visitors, and employees. Driving ability is preferred, and the role requires on-site work at the shelter.

Responsibilities include monitoring entrance, screening bags and persons, patrolling premises, and maintaining up-to-date records of incidents and client compliance with program rules. A High School Diploma or GED is required, with fingerprint clearance and local driving

Qualifications

• Fingerprint clearance required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6 months experience with homeless and/or vulnerable populations (preferred).
• Current California driver’s license and clean driving record (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Monitor Shelter entrance and authorize entry/exit to guard against theft and ensure security.
• Screen bags and persons entering shelter to ensure safety.
• Patrol premises to detect intrusions and maintain security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Assist with shelter safety, report spills or unsafe conditions, know fire exit locations.
• Record daily activities and incidents, maintain logs, and report to supervisor.
