Job summary

VOALA in Los Angeles is seeking a Monitor I - HSH to provide security for shelter premises, screen entrants, and support client safety on-site.

Responsibilities include monitoring entrance, bag/personal screening, patrolling, ensuring shelter safety, completing incident reports, and assisting staff with program services for participants. A High School Diploma or GED is required, with at least 6 months’ experience with vulnerable populations.

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background checks.
• 6 months’ experience with homeless or vulnerable populations.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Shelter entrance and authorize entry/exit to guard against theft.
• Screen bags and persons entering shelter to ensure safety.
• Patrol premises and maintain security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Observe shelter safety, report spills or hazards, assist during emergencies.
• Complete written incident logs and support program staff as needed.
• Drive participant transport as directed (if licensed) and support client services.
