Job summary

Volunteers of America (VOALA) is seeking an entry-level Monitor to safeguard shelter premises, ensure client and staff safety, and support program operations on-site in Los Angeles. Responsibilities include entrance control, bag and person screening, and patrolling to detect security issues.

Driving tasks are included for licensed monitors, with emphasis on professionalism and client respect. The role requires fingerprint clearance, background checks, and completion of safety training within 30

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background check.
• Completion of VOALA safety training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor shelter entrance and authorize entry/exit.
• Screen bags and persons entering shelter.
• Patrol premises to prevent intrusions and ensure door/window safety.
• Assist shelter staff and provide client support as needed.
• Maintain incident reports/logs for daily activities and irregularities.
• Drive participants as directed (licensed Monitors) and maintain trip records.
