Job summary

VOALA is hiring a Monitor I - HSH to ensure security and safety within the shelter premises, with a focus on protecting participants, staff and visitors. Driving ability is preferred for transportation tasks and incident responses.

Responsibilities

• SHELTER ENTRANCE MONITORING: Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of participants, visitors, staff and vendors to guard against theft and maintain security.
• BAG & PERSON SCREENING: Inspect bags and individuals for safety, ensuring dignity and professionalism.
• PATROL PREMISES: Walk the facility to detect and report safety or security issues and maintain records as needed.
• SHELTER SAFETY: Monitor safety, know fire exits, assist in emergencies and report hazards promptly.
• DRIVING TASKS: Transport participants when licensed, assist with mobility devices and maintain vehicle logs and upkeep.
