Job summary

International Motors, LLC is expanding its night production shift and seeking a hands-on Safety Engineer to establish a strong safety culture on the floor. The role partners with employees and leadership to regulate safety and reduce risks in a fast-paced manufacturing start-up environment.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, able to work independently on the second shift, and support operations from 5:30 PM to 4:00 AM, with a 10% shift differential upon transitioning to Night Shift.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Safety or related field.
• 3–5+ years of safety experience in manufacturing or start-up environments preferred.
• Experience with OSHA General Industry requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct floor inspections and safety audits.
• Identify unsafe conditions and drive corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and local safety requirements.
• Develop and deliver safety training and toolbox talks.
• Support LOTO, machine guarding, PPE, HazCom, ergonomics, electrical safety, and emergency programs.
• Perform JHAs/JSA and risk assessments for processes.
• Collaborate with Engineering during equipment installation and start-up.
• Maintain safety documentation and metrics.
• Coach supervisors and employees on safe practices.
