Job summary

International Motors, LLC is expanding its production operations in San Antonio with a dedicated night shift safety engineering role. The Safety Engineer will establish a strong safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with engineering and operations on installations and start-ups.

The position is night shift (Monday-Thursday, 5:30 PM–4:00 AM) with a 10% shift differential. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and relevant experience are required, with a salary commensurate with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of environmental health, fire safety or safety experience.
• Master's degree and no experience
• At least 3 years of environmental health, fire safety or safety experience.
• Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship)

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine floor inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments.
• Identify unsafe conditions and drive corrective actions to completion.
• Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses and perform root-cause analysis.
• Support compliance with OSHA and applicable federal, state, and local safety requirements.
• Develop and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and employee communications.
• Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, PPE, hazard communication, ergonomics, electrical safety, and emergency response programs.
• Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs/JSA) and risk assessments for new and existing processes.
• Partner with Engineering and Operations during equipment installation, process changes, and new-product/start-up activities.
• Maintain safety documentation, inspection records, corrective-action tracking, and safety metrics.
• Coach supervisors and employees on safe work practices and help strengthen accountability for safety.
• Serve as the primary safety resource for second-shift operations.
