Job summary

United Future is seeking a Roadway / Utility Superintendent for heavy night work in Winston-Salem, NC. You will lead night crews on highway, roadway and underground utility projects, coordinating field ops and ensuring DOT compliance.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in heavy civil, DOT night work, plan reading, traffic control knowledge, and a valid driver’s license. Relocation to the Triad area is encouraged and a strong benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in heavy civil roadway and/or underground utility supervision.
• Proven night work experience on DOT roadway or utility projects.
• Ability to read plans and specs and track quantities.
• Solid understanding of work zone traffic control.
• Valid driver's license; willingness to relocate to Winston-Salem area.
• NCDOT project experience a plus; OSHA 30 a plus; familiarity with HeavyJob.

Responsibilities

• Run night shift field operations on roadway and utility projects.
• Lead roadway, grading and underground utility crews and foremen.
• Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, equipment and material deliveries.
• Plan the work and shift the project schedule accordingly.
• Own jobsite safety, toolbox talks and OSHA compliance on every shift.
• Set up and manage traffic control and lane closures within night work windows.
• Work with NCDOT inspectors and project engineers; track quantities and daily production.
• Complete daily reports, crew time and field documentation.
• Coordinate handoffs with project manager and day side of the job.
