Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia is seeking an RN Resident for a 12‑month Nurse Residency Program designed to support new graduates with less than 6 months of professional RN experience.

You will work with unit-based leaders, educators, preceptors, and nurse educators to develop clinical skills, critical thinking and patient‑centered care through structured orientation and monthly NRP sessions.

Qualifications

• Completion of RN residency program is expected for new graduates with <6 months of nursing experience.
• Nursing practice should align with Wellstar Standards of Care and professional ethics.
• Participation in mandatory education and performance improvement activities is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs the Nursing Process with evidence-based practice and critical thinking.
• Provides patient- and family-centered care across diverse populations.
• Coordinates delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care.
• Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration with interprofessional teams.
• Participates in performance improvement and nursing research utilization.
• Serves as a preceptor/mentor for other nurses and staff.
• Supports ongoing professional development and mandatory education.
• Promotes a healthy work environment and adherence to policies.
