Job summary

Parkland Health is seeking a Night Shift RN with more than 2 years of nursing experience to coordinate patient care in the Adult ICU/Critical Care department. The RN must hold a current TX RN license or a valid Compact RN license and maintain BLS certification. BSN is preferred and acute care experience is desirable.

The role requires independent judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to function as a preceptor or Charge Nurse on rotation, ensuring safe and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• BSN, preferred.
• Must have two years of nursing experience.
• Prefer experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a patient advocate, focusing on patient needs, rights, confidentiality, and cultural preferences.
• Performs patient assessments including continuous surveillance and responds to changes in condition.
• Must be able to manage an adult ICU patient with neurological, pulmonary, cardiovascular, GI, GU disorders and provide safe nursing care.
• Maintains documentation and ensures records meet department standards.
• Seeks direction from experienced staff and may serve as Charge Nurse on rotation.
