Job summary

Parkland Health in Dallas, TX invites a registered nurse to join our fast-paced Critical Care team on a night shift. You will coordinate patient care using the Parkland nursing practice model, perform assessments, develop care plans, and supervise staff to ensure safe transitions.

The role requires 3–5 years in critical care, Texas RN licensure, BLS, ACLS/ALS, NIHSS, and trauma certification timelines. CCRN preferred. Join us to deliver high-quality patient care in a high-volume urban hospital.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must hold a Texas RN license or equivalent license.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Current ACLS or ALS certification on hire or placement.
• NIHSS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Trauma certification must be completed within 6 months of hire (deadline for existing staff: May 2025). Preferred CCRN or CEN.
• Three to five years of critical care experience; acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in development and implementation of protocols and policies for the clinical area.
• Acts as patient advocate, maintains patient rights and confidentiality, and coordinates with care teams.
• Maintains knowledge of applicable rules and compliance; supports accreditation and quality initiatives.
• Leads response during patient deterioration and coordinates interventions with interdisciplinary teams.
• Facilitates rapid responses, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and Code Blue events, and supports education for staff and families.
