Job summary

Parkland Health is seeking a Night Shift Registered Nurse to coordinate patient care using the nursing process and collaborate with the health care team. The role focuses on assessing patients, identifying nursing diagnoses, planning and delivering care, and evaluating outcomes to prevent complications or delays.

The ideal candidate will have a valid RN license (Texas Board of Nursing or a compact license), two years of nursing experience, CPR, NRP on hire, and a commitment to patient-centered

Qualifications

• Must graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have two years of nursing experience.
• Must hold RN license (Texas Board of Nursing) or a valid Compact RN license.
• Must have current healthcare provider CPR from AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
• Must have NRP certification on hire.
• Additional specialty certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care using the nursing process and collaborate with the healthcare team.
• Provide patient assessments, identify nursing diagnoses, plan and deliver care, and evaluate outcomes.
• Delegate interventions following the Texas Nursing Practice Act and competencies.
• Administer medications safely and manage IV access; provide POC monitoring.
• Document care accurately and maintain patient care records; ensure compliance with standards.
• Serve as Charge Nurse on rotation and potential preceptor to staff.
