Job summary

Parkland Health seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time night shift (7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.) with rotating weekends and holidays. The RN coordinates patient care using the nursing process, assesses patients, develops care plans, and evaluates responses with the health team.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, at least two years of nursing experience (acute care preferred), active RN license (Texas Board of Nursing or valid Compact), BLS, and SAMA

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have two years of nursing experience; acute care preferred.
• Must hold active RN license and BLS; SAMA certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for patient rights and coordinate care with the health team.
• Perform nurse hand-offs at shift changes using the EPIC system.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant laws and policies affecting nursing practice.
• Complete accurate documentation and discharge planning.
• Provide direction to non-nursing staff and serve as a Charge Nurse on rotation.
• Deliver in-service education and participate in quality improvement.
