Job summary

Parkland Health in Dallas seeks a licensed RN for the Night Shift in PACU. This part-time, benefits-eligible role requires 24+ hours per week and night hours from 7pm to 7am.

The RN applies the nursing process to assess patients, plan care, and coordinate transitions while complying with the Texas Nursing Practice Act. The ideal candidate has at least two years in Phase I PACU or critical care, holds a Texas RN license (or Compact), BLS, and ALS/ACLS and PALS/ENPC certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum two years Phase I PACU, ICU, or ED experience.
• Must hold current RN license (Texas or Compact).
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• ALS or ACLS certification on hire.
• PALS or ENPC certification on hire.
• Demonstrates leadership and precepting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Act as patient advocate, maintain patient rights and confidentiality, coordinate care.
• Ensure compliance with state/federal laws, accrediting standards and safety protocols.
• Perform patient assessments and perioperative care in Pre Op Holding and PACU.
• Provide safe medication administration and post-anesthesia recovery care.
• Document clinical findings accurately and timely in care records.
• Mentor and precept new nursing staff; participate in process improvement.
