Job summary

Parkland Health is seeking a licensed RN to join the MedSurg unit on the 8th floor for a night shift, part-time. The RN will assess patients, develop and implement care plans, and collaborate with the care team to prevent delays or complications.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, two years of nursing experience (acute care preferred), Texas RN licensure or Compact, and current BLS certification. Night shift opportunities exist in a dynamic hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have two years of nursing experience.
• Prefer experience in an acute care setting.
• Must hold a current RN license or temporary RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing, or a valid Compact RN license.
• Must have current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

Responsibilities

• Serves as patient advocate and maintains positive relationships with patients and staff.
• Performs patient assessments, documents care, and coordinates interventions.
• Provides education to patients and families and supports care transitions.
• Delivers nursing care per standards and protocols and demonstrates teamwork.
• Seeks guidance from experienced staff and may precept or be Charge Nurse as needed.
