Job summary

Parkland Health in Dallas seeks a Labor & Delivery RN for PRN night shifts to provide care to laboring and postpartum patients within established protocols and a multidisciplinary plan of care. You will perform assessments, administer medications safely, support breastfeeding, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff to ensure patient-centered care and optimal outcomes.

This role requires current Texas RN licensure, CPR, ACLS, and ability to float within unit as needed to meet patient

Qualifications

• Must have two years of Labor & Delivery experience
• Or completion of Parkland's L&D RN Residency or Fellowship with one year of L&D experience
• Current Texas RN license or Compact license
• Current CPR certification (AHA/Red Cross/Military Training Network)
• ALS or ACLS certification on hire
• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification (Intermediate/Advanced)
• Re-certification as required (Two/Three-year renewal rules)

Responsibilities

• Advocate for patient rights, privacy, and cultural preferences
• Perform labor, delivery, postpartum assessments and documentation
• Administer medications using the 6 rights and manage IVs
• Provide breastfeeding support and newborn education
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff
• Float within skillset as needed and maintain competency
