Job summary

Mercy Health in Lorain, OH seeks a Clinical Nurse II to lead a Care Delivery Team, directing nursing care for a group of patients with assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The CN II precepts new staff and demonstrates clinical leadership and competency on the unit.

The role includes coordinating care, supervising LPNs and aides, and collaborating with the Nurse Manager. This full-time night shift (7:00 pm–7:30 am) requires every other weekend and holiday, with Mercy Health

Qualifications

• Graduation from a state-accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure from the state of Ohio as an RN.
• Successful completion of general and unit-specific orientation and hospital probationary period.
• Obtain/maintain a minimum of 12 contact hours of continuing education annually including Fire Safety and CPR Re-certification.
• ACLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Directs care for a team of patients with assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Precepts new employees and demonstrates nursing leadership.
• Coordinates nursing care for a specific patient group on the unit.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families and staff; supervises LPNs and Patient Care Assistants.
• Reports to Nurse Manager or Administrative Supervisor; follows unit policies.
