Job summary

Mercy Health in Lorain is seeking a Clinical Nurse II (CN II) to lead the Care Delivery Team and coordinate nursing care for a specific group of patients. The CN II demonstrates clinical competency and leadership while directing care across assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

The role requires current Ohio RN licensure, state-approved nursing education, ongoing CE including Fire Safety and CPR recertification, and ACLS.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a state-accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure from the state of Ohio as an RN.
• Successful completion of general and unit-specific orientation and hospital probationary period. Completes Orientation Checklist.
• Obtains/maintains a minimum of 12 contact hours of continuing education annually which includes Fire Safety and CPR Re-certification. ACLS is required.
• Must have theoretical knowledge combined with clinical experience in providing nursing care for a variety of patients. Must be able to communicate well verbally and in writing with people of varying backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct care for a team of patients as part of the Care Delivery Team.
• Demonstrate nursing leadership and coordinate nursing care for a specific patient group.
• Provide independent assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs.
• Precept new employees as assigned.
• Communicate effectively with diverse patient populations and care team members.
