Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a CN II who will lead a Care Delivery Team and coordinate nursing care for a specific patient group. The role demonstrates clinical leadership, performs independent assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs, and precepts new staff.

The CN II is the second step on Mercy’s Clinical Ladder, requiring Ohio RN licensure, orientation completion, and ongoing CEU credits, including ACLS, Fire Safety, and CPR recertification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a state-accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure from the state of Ohio as an RN.
• Successful completion of general and unit-specific orientation and hospital probationary period.
• Maintains 12 contact hours of continuing education annually including Fire Safety and CPR Re-certification; ACLS required.
• Theoretical knowledge with clinical experience across diverse patient groups and strong verbal/written communication.

Responsibilities

• Directs care for a team of patients with clinical leadership.
• Precepts new employees as assigned and coordinates nursing care.
• Skilled in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs.
• Reports to Nurse Manager or Administrative Supervisor and may supervise LPNs and Patient Care Assistants.
