Job summary

Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA is seeking a Clinical Manager to lead the Ortho Spine Department during night shifts. You will oversee day-to-day shift operations, manage staff, and address patient, visitor, and physician concerns while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Current California RN License.
• Associates Degree in Nursing or Advanced degree.
• Current BLS certification (maintain current).
• Current ACLS certification (maintain current).
• Minimum of 3 years clinical experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership of staff related to care of Medical-Surgical patients and orthopedic protocols.
• Interpret information to meet patient needs and age-appropriate care.
• Assist in recruiting, evaluating, counseling, and hiring staff.
• Assist and edit payroll reports; ensure staff competency records.
• Ensure timely performance evaluations and HR documentation.
• Counsel and discipline staff as needed; interview and hire staff.
• Coordinate orientation and ongoing education; attend leadership meetings.
• Support hospital programs including risk management and safety.
• Oversee staff scheduling, breaks, and unit workflow efficiency.
• Monitor labor hour benchmarks and cross-training opportunities.
• Maintain ongoing communications with staff and leadership.
• Develop department strategic plans and cost-control measures.
• Integrate performance improvement into daily operations.
