Job summary

Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA is seeking a Nurse Leader to serve as Clinical Manager for the Emergency Department during night shifts. The role oversees telemetry care, staff leadership, and HR activities, ensuring compliant, high-quality patient care across shifts.

The position requires a California RN license, BSN, BLS/ACLS, and 3+ years of clinical leadership experience. EKG and NIHSS tests must be completed within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• California RN License (current)
• BSN required
• BLS and ACLS certification current
• EKG and NIHSS tests completed within 30 days of hire
• Minimum 3 years clinical experience
• Leadership and professional presentation skills

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership of telemetry staff and care protocols for telemetry/progressive care patients
• Assess patient needs and interpret information accordingly
• Ensure appropriate age-specific care and development considerations
• Participate in HR processes including hiring, evaluation, and counseling
• Maintain current, criteria-based job standards and competencies for staff
• Complete timely performance evaluations and HR documentation
• Counsel and discipline staff as needed and hire new staff
• Coordinate orientation and ongoing education for employees
• Maintain records on licensure, certifications, and education
• Promote staffing efficiency and optimal resource use per acuity data
• Oversee staff development and cross-training; support risk management and safety programs
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and review them periodically
• Support strategic plans and PI initiatives; contribute to department goals and budgeting
