Job summary

VICARS LANDING in Sawgrass, FL is seeking an experienced Nursing Supervisor to oversee day-to-day nursing activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards and regulations that govern our facility. This role reports to the Director of Nursing Services to maintain the highest quality of resident care.

Responsibilities include coordinating nursing care, supervising staff, attending committee meetings, reviewing plans of care, and ensuring medication safety.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid and current RN or LPN license in Florida.
• Must be able to write, read, and speak the English language.
• Must possess a current/valid CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and directs the nursing care of all residents in accordance with current rules, regulations, and facility standards of care.
• Ensure that nursing service procedures and manual are followed by nursing personnel reflecting day nursing care practices.
• Attend/coordinate facility committee meetings (infection control, QA, quarterly interdisciplinary meetings).
• Make daily rounds to ensure staff perform to acceptable nursing standards and report issues.
• Assist in developing and delivering in-service training and orientation programs.
• Perform routine charting duties and monitor staff for compliance.
• Monitor shifts to ensure safety regulations in equipment, supplies, and drills are followed.
• Maintain stock levels of medications and supplies; prevent waste.
• Meet with staff regularly to identify problems and propose improvements.
• Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules; ensure documentation accuracy.
• Participate in developing a written plan of care for each resident and ensure adherence.
