Job summary

VICARS LANDING in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL is seeking a Nursing Supervisor to oversee day-to-day nursing activities in accordance with federal, state, and local standards. The role ensures delivery of high-quality resident care under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services.

The successful candidate will lead nursing staff, participate in committees, monitor medications and treatments, and help maintain safe, compliant operations within the facility.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Florida RN or LPN license.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Minimum 1 year in a supervisory role in a hospital or long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care for all residents in accordance with current rules, regulations and facility standards.
• Ensure nursing service procedures reflect the unit's day-to-day care practices and facility policies.
• Attend and coordinate committee meetings (infection control, QA, interdisciplinaries) as required.
• Make daily rounds to ensure staff perform assigned tasks to nursing standards and report issues.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and conducting in-service training and orientation programs.
• Monitor charting and documentation; supervise staff nurses and CNAs for compliance.
• Oversee safety practices; ensure proper use of equipment and adherence to drills.
• Maintain adequate stock of medications and supplies; use resources efficiently.
• Develop and review written plans of care for each resident; ensure compliance by staff.
• Monitor resident rights and ensure all staff are knowledgeable about them.
• Identify problems and propose staffing changes; communicate with Director of Nursing.
