Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for the Acute/Cardiac unit on a part-time basis. You will provide bedside care and apply the nursing process to assess, plan and evaluate patient needs, contributing to a safe, healing environment.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, administer medications, educate patients and families, document care, and assist with discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting, preferably cardiac.
• Proficiency in electronic patient management systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.
• Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patient.
• Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
• Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
• Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.
• Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with healthcare team.
• Educate patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.
