Job summary

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center in Mansfield, TX is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist. You will provide adult and neonatal respiratory care, including ABG, PFTs, Ventilator support, and aerosol therapy, under supervision of the medical director.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, BLS and ACLS, NBRC registration, Texas license, and at least 6 months of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Respiratory Care Program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS) certification
• NRP and Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of hire
• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Texas Medical Board
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• At least 6 months of respiratory care experience

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, Incentive Spirometry, airway maintenance, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy, CPR and mechanical ventilation.
• Performs and reports cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures including arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function studies, and electrocardiograms.
• Prepares a treatment evaluation including bedside assessment, patient interview and chart review.
• Interprets CXR, ABG and PFT data.
• Assembles, checks, operates and troubleshoots respiratory equipment such as ventilators and gas analyzers.
• Participates in infection control, safety and quality assurance tasks.
• Performs cleaning and maintenance of all cardiopulmonary equipment and work areas.
• Uses appropriate patient scripting to improve satisfaction.
• Performs other duties as required
