Job summary

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to manage a range of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures for adults and neonates. The role covers ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapy, and airway maintenance under indirect supervision by the medical director.

You will be required to be proficient in respiratory assessment and treatment, adhere to departmental policies, and maintain high standards of patient care across ages.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
• NRP and Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, Incentive Spirometry, airway maintenance, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy, CPR and mechanical ventilation.
• Performs and reports prescribed cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures including arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function studies, and electrocardiograms.
• Prepares a treatment evaluation with bedside respiratory assessment, patient interview and chart review.
• Uses critical thinking to take appropriate clinical actions.
• Interprets Chest X-ray, ABG and PFT data when reviewing patient data.
• Assembles, checks, operates and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment.
• Participates in infection control, safety and quality assurance.
• Performs cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
• Uses customer scripting to improve patient satisfaction.
• Performs other job duties as required.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program

BLS certification

ACLS certification

NRP certification

Texas Medical Board license as Respiratory Care Practitioner

NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist
