Job summary

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide respiratory care across age groups, including ABG, PFTs, and ventilator support. The role operates under the direction of the department's medical director and adheres to hospital policies.

Candidates must graduate from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, hold or obtain BLS and ACLS, and be licensed in Texas with NBRC-registered status.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support— within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT).
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, aerosol therapy, humidity therapy, IPPB, and chest physiotherapy.
• Reports and interprets prescribed CP/CV procedures: ABG, pulse oximetry, PFTs, ECGs.
• Conducts bedside respiratory assessments and reviews patient records.
• Applies critical thinking in appropriate actions.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data during patient reviews.
• Assembles, operates, and troubleshoots respiratory equipment.
• Contributes to infection control, safety, and quality assurance.
• Performs regular cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
• Uses patient communication to improve satisfaction.
