Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care for adults and neonates, including oxygen therapy, bronchodilators and ventilator support. You will perform ABG, PFTs, and respiratory assessments under supervision of the medical director.

Required credentials include BLS, ACLS, Texas licensure, NBRC RRT registration, and 6 months of experience. NRP/PALS must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support — must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, aerosol therapy, and ventilation support.
• Performs and reports arterial blood gases, pulse oximetry, PFTs and ECGs.
• Prepares treatment evaluations including bedside assessments and medical record review.
• Interprets CXR, ABG and PFT data exercising critical thinking.
• Operates and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment and devices.
• Maintains infection control, safety and quality assurance.
• Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
• Utilizes patient scripting to improve satisfaction and care experience.
