Job summary

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center in Mansfield, TX seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist for the night shift. You will manage ventilator support, oxygen therapy, ABG analysis and PFTs for adults and neonates under medical direction.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, BLS, ACLS, NRP/PALS within 1 year, Texas licensure and NBRC registration, and at least 6 months of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications required.
• NRP and PALS must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Texas; NBRC registered.
• At least 6 months of respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, bronchial hygiene, CPR and mechanical ventilation.
• Performs and reports arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs and electrocardiograms.
• Prepares treatment evaluations with bedside respiratory assessment and chart review.
• Interprets CXR, ABG and PFT data to guide therapy.
• Assembles, checks, operates and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment.
• Participates in infection control, safety and quality assurance.
• Maintains and cleans cardiopulmonary equipment and work areas.
