Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required.
• NRP/Paediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Texas (in good standing).
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, aerosol and humidity therapy, airway maintenance and mechanical ventilation.
• Conduct cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures: ABG analysis, pulse oximetry, PFT, ECG.
• Prepare treatment evaluations with bedside assessment and chart review.
• Apply critical thinking to patient care actions.
• Interpret CXR, ABG and PFT results when reviewing patient data.
• Assemble, check, operate and troubleshoot CP equipment.
• Participate in infection control, safety and quality assurance tasks.
• Perform routine cleaning/maintenance of CP equipment and work areas.
• Utilize patient scripting to improve satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as required.
