Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for night shifts to provide ABG, PFTs, and ventilator support for adults and neonates. You will work under supervision and follow department policies while ensuring high-quality care across age groups.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, BLS/ACLS, NBRC registration, Texas license, and at least 6 months of experience in respiratory care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
• NRP and Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, weaning and therapy.
• Performs and reports arterial blood gas analysis, PFTs and ECGs.
• Prepares treatment evaluations with bedside assessments and chart review.
• Use critical thinking to decide on actions.
• Interpret CXR, ABG and PFT data when reviewing patient data.
• Assembles, checks and maintains cardiopulmonary equipment.
• Participates in infection control, safety and quality assurance.
• Performs cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
• Uses patient scripting to improve satisfaction.
• Performs other duties as required.
