Job summary

Methodist Charlton Medical Center in Dallas is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to perform ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, and oxygen therapy for adults and neonates under physician supervision.

The role requires graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, Texas RCP licensure, NBRC registration, BLS and ACLS; NRP/PALS must be obtained within 1 year of hire; minimum 6 months experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required; NRP/PALS must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, Incentive Spirometry and airway maintenance.
• Performs arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs and ECGs; reports prescribed cardiopulmonary diagnostics.
• Prepares treatment evaluations through bedside assessments and chart review.
• Utilizes critical thinking to determine appropriate actions and interpret CXR/ABG/PFT results.
• Operates and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment (ventilators, gas analyzers, delivery devices).
• Participates in infection control, safety and quality assurance; maintains equipment and work areas.
