Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide a broad range of respiratory care for adults and neonates. You will perform ABG, PFT, and ventilator support under the medical director's supervision, ensuring safe, evidence-based care.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, BLS/ACLS, Texas license, NBRC registration, and at least 6 months of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
• NRP or PALS must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Perfoms respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, aerosol therapy, humidity therapy, airway maintenance and chest physiotherapy.
• Performs and reports arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function studies and ECGs.
• Conducts bedside respiratory assessments, interviews, and reviews patient records to inform treatment.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data to guide care.
• Operates and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment such as ventilators and gas analyzers.
• Maintains infection control, safety and quality assurance in the department.
• Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
• Uses patient-facing scripting to improve satisfaction and outcomes.
