Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to perform ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, and oxygen/aerosol therapy for adults and neonates. Responsibilities include airway maintenance, cardiopulmonary diagnostics, and bedside assessments under medical director supervision.

The ideal candidate will have a Respiratory Care Program graduate, current BLS and ACLS, and Texas licensure with NBRC registration, plus at least six months of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NRP or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) — must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, and airway maintenance.
• Performs and reports prescribed cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures (ABG, pulse oximetry, PFTs, ECG).
• Prepares a treatment evaluation including bedside respiratory assessment and review of patient records.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data.
• Operates, assembles and troubleshoots CP equipment (ventilators, airways, gas analyzers).
• Participates in infection control, safety and quality assurance.
