Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide a range of respiratory therapies for adults and neonates during 12-hour night shifts. Responsibilities include ABG analysis, PFTs, and ventilator care, performed under indirect supervision of the department’s medical director.

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Respiratory Care Program, hold BLS and ACLS, and Texas licensure with NBRC registration.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Currently licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience preferred, new graduates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapies including oxygen administration, aerosol therapy, and mechanical ventilation support.
• Performs and reports arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, and pulmonary function tests.
• Prepares treatment evaluations with bedside assessment and chart review.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data during patient review.
• Assembles, checks, operates and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment.
• Participates in infection control, safety and quality assurance.
