Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to perform ABG, PFTs, and various forms of ventilator support for adults and neonates. You will assess respiratory status, plan treatments, interpret ABG/PFTs/CXR, and manage equipment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support— must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience preferred; new graduates encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics: oxygen, humidity, IPPB, inhalation therapy and ventilation support.
• Performs arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry and pulmonary function studies.
• Prepares treatment evaluations including bedside assessment and chart review.
• Interprets CXR, ABG and PFT data when reviewing patient data.
• Maintains cardiopulmonary equipment and participates in infection control and safety.
• Assists with quality assurance and uses appropriate patient scripting to improve satisfaction.
• Performs other duties as required.
