Job summary

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is seeking a Special Care Nursery Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to perform a range of respiratory therapies and diagnostics for both neonates and adults. The role requires NICU experience and a completed Respiratory Care Program, with BLS and ACLS current, and NRP/ALS within 12 months of hire.

TX licensure and NBRC registration are mandatory. The candidate will work 12X3 Night shifts under supervision, with a strong focus on patient assessment,

Qualifications

• NICU or Special Care Nursery experience is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• NRP and Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board in good standing.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months of respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, humidity therapy, and airway maintenance.
• Performs arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function studies, and ECGs.
• Prepares treatment evaluations with bedside assessments and chart reviews.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data when reviewing patient data.
• Assembles, checks, operates, and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment.
• Contributes to infection control, safety, and quality assurance activities.
• Performs cleaning and maintenance of cardiopulmonary equipment and work areas.
• Uses customer scripting to improve patient satisfaction.
• Performs other duties as required.
