Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Dallas–Fort Worth area is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 12×3 night shift (6:45 PM–7:15 AM) serving adults and neonates under the medical director. The role requires therapy delivery, diagnostics, and equipment management across a full-service acute care setting.

The candidate will be responsible for ABG/PFT/ventilator support, airway management, infection control, and ongoing patient assessment with emphasis on safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months of respiratory care experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, bronchial hygiene and airway maintenance.
• Performs and reports arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry and pulmonary function studies.
• Prepares treatment evaluations via bedside assessment and chart review.
• Interprets CXR, ABG and PFT data in patient care decisions.
• Operates and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment such as ventilators and gas analyzers.
• Contributes to infection control, safety and quality assurance activities.
• Maintains and cleans all cardiopulmonary equipment and work areas.
