Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 12x3 night shift. The role involves adult and neonatal respiratory care, ABG analysis, PFTs, and ventilator support, under indirect supervision of the medical director.

Applicants must be licensed in Texas and NBRC registered, with at least 6 months of experience. Evening to morning shifts provide critical patient support in a Magnet-designated hospital with extensive cardiovascular and neonatal services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Texas license as Respiratory Care Practitioner in good standing.
• Registered by NBRC.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, incentive spirometry, airway maintenance, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy, CPR and mechanical ventilation.
• Perform and report prescribed cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures including ABG analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs, and ECGs.
• Prepare treatment evaluations with bedside respiratory assessment and chart review.
• Interpret CXR, ABG and PFT data when reviewing patient data.
• Inspect and troubleshoot cardiopulmonary equipment and maintain work areas.
