Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to perform ABG, PFTs and ventilator support for adults and neonates, under medical director supervision. Requires Texas license and NBRC registration, BLS and ACLS within 1 year, and a drive for patient safety.

The role supports respiratory assessment and therapy, oxygen and airway management, infection control, and equipment maintenance in a 12x3 night shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Acute Cardio Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NRP and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Texas license as Respiratory Care Practitioner in good standing.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience preferred (new grads welcome).

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapies including oxygen therapy, aerosol/humidity therapy, IPPB, chest physiotherapy, and mechanical ventilation.
• Conduct arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs, and ECGs as prescribed.
• Prepare treatment evaluations with bedside assessment and chart review.
• Interpret CXR, ABG, and PFT data.
• Operate and troubleshoot cardiopulmonary equipment and maintain work areas.
