Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts seeks a Respiratory Therapist for a 12-hour night shift assignment (6:45 PM–7:15 AM). The role includes care for patients on mechanical ventilation, coordination with anesthesia during airway procedures, and support across campuses.

A current MA license and NBRC RRT credential are required, with a 2-month window to obtain RN/RT licensure if new graduate. Sign-on bonus up to $10,000 is available for external hires; strong critical care and computer skills

Qualifications

• Critical Care experience, technical and computer skills.
• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care required.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required by date specified.
• Current MA respiratory license required.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and supports patients on mechanical ventilation and provides respiratory care.
• Assists physician/anesthesia during airway procedures and bronchoscopies.
• Develops and adjusts treatment plans per department protocols.
• Obtains arterial blood gases and related samples for analysis.
• Sets up ventilatory support equipment and monitors oxygen delivery and saturation.
• Maintains difficult airway carts and participates on code airway team.
