Job summary

Alternative Services Connecticut, Inc. seeks a Residential Instructor to oversee daily supervision of consumers and manage program operations in a home setting in Connecticut.

You will ensure safety, welfare, and a fun, healthy environment while enforcing all agency policies. Responsibilities include documenting activities, maintaining logs, coordinating with staff, and assisting with transportation and activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum two years experience working with individuals with developmentally disabled or dually diagnosed; substitution with education allowed.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability for agency vehicle; travel may be required.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
• CPR, First Aid, PMT and DDS State Medication Administration certifications required.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and physically intervene as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor consumer behavior and implement behavior management programs; document on forms.
• Document all shift activities and incidents in logs; record on consumers in Therap.
• Provide programmatic and statistical reports as required.
• Maintain safety, appearance, and cleanliness of home; conduct sanitation and safety inspections; report issues.
• Maintain professional attitude with co-workers, management, outside agencies, etc.

Education
