Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years experience with individuals with developmental disabilities; education can substitute year-for-year.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured; may travel using agency or personal vehicle.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, PMT and DDS State Medication Administration certifications.
• Lift up to 75 pounds and physically intervene as required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor consumer behavior and implement behavior management programs; document everything.
• Document shift activities and incidents in Therap.
• Provide programmatic and statistical reports as required.
• Maintain safety, appearance, and cleanliness of home; inspect equipment and perform minor repairs.
• Maintain professional attitude with staff, management, and outside agencies.
• Know and follow all agency policies, safety, and emergency procedures; report incidents promptly.
• Distribute medications according to each consumer's schedule and DDS guidelines.
• Provide activities or programs for consumers during each shift and supervise residents in community activities.
