Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Dallas–area communities seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 12x3 night shift. You will perform ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapy, and airway maintenance for adults and neonates under indirect supervision.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, current BLS and ACLS, and NBRC registration. Texas license in good standing and may need NRP/PALS within 1 year.

Competenze

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support — must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Currently licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience is preferred but new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Mansioni

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, Incentive Spirometry, airway maintenance, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy, CPR and mechanical ventilation.
• Performs and reports prescribed cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures including arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function studies, and electrocardiograms.
• Prepares a treatment evaluation including bedside respiratory physical assessment, patient interview and review of medical records.
• Performs actions using critical thinking skills.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data when reviewing patient data.
• Assembles, checks, operates and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment such as artificial airways, ventilators, oxygen analyzers, and blood gas analyzers.
• Participates in infection control, safety and quality assurance tasks.
• Performs cleaning and maintenance of cardiopulmonary equipment and work areas.
• Uses appropriate patient scripting to improve satisfaction.
• Performs other duties as required.
