Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Dallas area is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for 12X3 night shifts. You will perform ABG analysis, PFTs, and a range of ventilator and oxygen therapies for adults and neonates under indirect supervision, ensuring patient comfort and safety.

The role requires graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, Texas licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, and active BLS/ACLS; NRP/PALS must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support — must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Currently licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, airway maintenance, and mechanical ventilation.
• Performs diagnostic procedures: ABG analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs, ECGs.
• Prepares treatment evaluations via bedside assessment and chart review.
• Uses critical thinking to determine actions.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data when reviewing patient data.
• Maintains and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment.
• Participates in infection control, safety and quality assurance.
• Performs cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
• Utilizes patient scripting to improve satisfaction.
