Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for the FT ACC/PICU Nights 7p-7a. Responsibilities include delivering prescribed respiratory care, evaluating blood gases, and supporting critical care teams in the PICU and NICU environments.

Requirements include an AS in Respiratory Therapy, MI licensure, and RRT within 1 year for post-2004 hires; BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications are required, with certifications completed within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current Michigan Respiratory Therapist license required.
• RRT credentials required within 1 year for hires after 2004.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications required; BLS within 3 months; others within 1 year.
• BLH/BSH: 5 years experience; Bachelor’s preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy per provider orders and monitor patient response.
• Discuss conclusions with providers and nurses to resolve patient problems promptly.
• Routinely evaluate blood gases and adjust therapy as indicated.
• Communicate ventilator recommendations to providers and nursing staff.
• Maintain artificial airways and assist with emergency procedures as needed.

Education

Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (AS)

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (certificate, diploma, AS degree) and 5 years of experience
