Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a full-time night shift (7p-7a) with 72 hrs per pay period. Openings include ACC/PICU and Children's units. Enjoy a $25,000 sign-on bonus and Day 1 benefits, with premium pay for nights and weekends.

Under supervision, the RT delivers respiratory care, evaluates results, and communicates with the medical team. Candidates must hold an RT license in Michigan and meet credential requirements, including RRT within one year.

Qualifications

• Must hold an AS degree in Respiratory Therapy (or higher).
• Michigan license as Respiratory Therapist is required.
• RRT credentials must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications are required per-site.
• Experience in ACC/PICU and Children's units is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapies per physician orders, protocols or guidelines.
• Assess and monitor patient response; communicate with providers and nurses.
• Perform blood gas sampling, oxygen therapy titration and ventilator management as needed.
• Assist with Code Blue and emergency respiratory procedures per policy.
• Educate patients and families about treatments and equipment.
• Maintain equipment readiness and participate in department quality initiatives.

Education

Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Current Michigan Respiratory Therapist license

RRT credentials within 1 year of hire

BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications
