Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist for the ACC/PICU on the 12-hour night shift (7p-7a). The role provides advanced respiratory care, collaborates with physicians and nursing staff, and supports patient families across critical care areas.

Requires an AS in Respiratory Therapy (BS preferred), Michigan RRT license within 1 year for newer hires, and BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications with site-specific timelines.

Qualifications

• AS degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Michigan RRT license required.
• RRT credential within 1 year of hire for those hired after 2004.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications required; site may require within set timelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care per physician orders, protocols and policies.
• Explain therapies to patients and families in clear terms.
• Evaluate blood gases and adjust therapy as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and therapists to ensure safe, effective care.
• Respond to emergencies (Code Blue) and participate in life-support activities.
