Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist for 72 hr per pay period, 7p-7a, including nights in the Children’s Hospital setting. Under supervision, you will deliver respiratory care per orders and hospital policies, acting as a resource for clinicians and contributing to patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds an AS in Respiratory Therapy with an active Michigan license and RRT within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy (AS) is required.
• Current Michigan Respiratory Therapist license is required.
• For anyone hired after 2004, RRT credentials must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Must attend courses through AHA: BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP; BLS within 3 months of hire; ACLS, PALS and NRP within 1 year (site requirements).

Responsibilities

• Provides patient respiratory therapy and communicates findings to providers and nurses.
• Evaluates arterial and venous blood gases and suggests therapy changes based on ABG results.
• Communicates ventilator recommendations to providers and nursing staff.
• Checks provider orders and administers therapy accordingly.
• Performs respiratory therapies across age-specific protocols and explains therapy to patients.
