Hormel Foods is seeking a Team Leader to oversee plant processes on nights, spending most of the time on the production floor to keep schedules on track. Daily and weekly overtime is required.

You will lead and develop a team, ensure resources and staffing meet production needs, and drive safety, quality, cost, and customer service improvements. The role includes six weeks of hands-on training and a six‑month on‑the‑job program.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple tasks at once.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Ability to analyze inventory and efficiencies to develop continuous improvement opportunities.
• Ability to present effectively to groups.
• Must be able to work on your feet and tolerate work in a cold environment.
• Preferred: 1+ year as a shift lead, shift supervisor, assistant manager, etc. OR Associates Degree.

Responsibilities

• Leads team members by managing and executing plant processes.
• Manages team members in attaining production and quality goals.
• Ensures appropriate resources (including materials, equipment, and staffing needs) are available to maintain production schedules.
• Supports continuous improvement processes to ensure that goals in safety, quality, cost, and customer service are met.
• Creates and maintains an engaged and team-oriented work force to improve business results.
• Team Leaders are usually 'on their feet' in the production area about 80% of the shift.
