Job summary

Saint-Gobain/CertainTeed is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 7pm–7am shift, four nights on four off, in Minnesota. You will lead hourly production staff, enforce safety, quality, and environmental standards, and drive cost reductions while promoting teamwork.

You will coach staff, review performance, and coordinate with the Production Planner to meet schedules. Proficiency with MS Office, Kronos, and SAP is advantageous; ISO, Lean, TPM, 5S, and Six Sigma familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree preferred (equivalent experience may be considered)
• 3+ years of Supervisory experience (manufacturing environment preferred)
• Proficient in use of MS Office (familiarity with Kronos and SAP a plus)
• General understanding of ISO methodology
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S & Six Sigma a plus

Responsibilities

• Directly supervises hourly production employees on the safe and efficient operation of the production line equipment and processes.
• Monitors manpower, work in progress and operational adjustments.
• Communicates & documents employee expectations and assess performance; provides coaching and development, and administers disciplinary actions as needed.
• Directly monitors production processes and production quality to meet company standards.
• Oversees training of production employees to ensure proper SOPs and work instructions are followed.
• Leads shift safety meetings and training sessions developed by the training department.
• May assist in evaluating and selecting hourly hires.
• Performs root-cause analysis and implements countermeasures on production losses.
• Coordinates with Production Planner to ensure schedule adherence.
• Enters production, efficiency and waste data into SAP.
• Investigates EH&S incidents and supports audits to meet EHS goals.
• Ensures waste management and recycling responsibilities are followed.
• Participates in incident investigations to determine root cause and actions.
• Reviews/updates job safety assessments and SOPs.
• Maintains 5S and good housekeeping; reviews Kronos timekeeping for wages.
